On Saturday, August 22, 2026, Aurora InfoTech proudly participated as a featured speaker at the "Unlocked: Your Future Starts Now" career networking event, hosted by Empowered Girls Inc. at the Dr. James R. Smith Neighborhood Center in Orlando, Florida.
This was exactly the kind of event that reminds us of our core tenants and of what matters most. Community, education, and showing up.

A Day Built for Young People to Dream Bigger
Hosted by Empowered Girls Inc. in partnership with the City of Orlando, the event brought together middle school, high school, and college-age students for a career exploration, professional networking, and empowerment. More than 15 industry professionals and businesses were in attendance, giving students the opportunity to connect with real professionals, explore career pathways, and gain insight into life and career beyond the classroom.
Walking into that room and feeling the energy of so many young people ready to learn and ask questions was really something special. These students showed up with curiosity, excitement, and a hunger to understand what the world of professional careers looks like. We were honored to be a part of that.
Our Team at the Center of It All
We were represented by two incredible members of the Aurora InfoTech family; Roy Richardson, our Co-Founder and Chief Information Security Officer, and Shaddik Flores, one of our teams Cybersecurity and IT technicians. Together, they led an engaging and interactive workshop that introduced attendees to the world of Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and the growing career opportunities available in the technology industry.
Shaddik led the session as our primary presenter, with Roy expanding on key concepts and bringing additional expertise to the conversation throughout. The feedback from the room was incredible, and it showed in the energy of the attendees.
| "The event went really well. Everyone seemed to really love the information that we gave them. They were very happy to have learned a little further about AI and the different careers within Cybersecurity. The event overall was very beautiful and very well put together, and we are very appreciative of everyone's hard work that made this experience possible," - Roy Richardson and Shaddik Flores. |
Making Complex Concepts Click
One of the things we are most proud of is our team's ability to take Cybersecurity — a field that can feel complex and intimidating and make it accessible, engaging, and relevant for everyone in the room. Our goal is always to ensure that every participant walks away with knowledge and awareness they can carry into their everyday lives, and the inspiration to see what is truly possible for their future.
At this event, that goal was achieved. Attendees left not just inspired, but genuinely informed, with a broader perspective on the career possibilities available within technology and Cybersecurity and practical knowledge they can apply.
A Connection That Meant Everything
Among the many meaningful interactions of the event, one stood out above the rest. We had the opportunity to connect with a young attendee who is actively pursuing a career in Cybersecurity and eager to explore what the field has to offer. Moments like that are why we do this work. It is not just about the workshop — it is about the person sitting in the audience who sees themselves in this field for the first time and realizes that the door is open for them.
What Felicia Lewis Had to Say
We were deeply moved by the words shared by Felicia Lewis, Founder and Executive Director of Empowered Girls Inc., about our participation:
|
"The participation of Aurora InfoTech in our Career Networking Event was an incredible example of what meaningful community partnership looks like. Roy and Shaddik were amazing facilitators and workshop presenters who brought energy, expertise, and real-world knowledge into the room, providing youth with valuable education surrounding online safety, Cybersecurity awareness, and the importance of understanding how to protect themselves in today's digital world." She continued: "Aurora InfoTech's involvement represented education, community engagement, mentorship, and partnership in action. Your impact was felt, your knowledge was valued, and your presence made a difference." |
We want to express our deepest thanks to you, Felicia. Those words mean the world to our entire team.
